New York, March 5, 2018 – Mizuho Americas announces that Mizuho Electronic Trading (MET) took top honors for Best New Trading Product at the Fund Technology & WSL Awards 2018. The award recognizes those catering to asset managers and institutional traders who have demonstrated exceptional customer service and innovative product development.

“The advantage of introducing a new offering in a mature product space is that we are not burdened by legacy technology,” said Lindsey Burik, head of equity electronic trading at Mizuho Americas. “We took a fresh look at electronic trading and came up with a product that leverages real-time technology and our enterprise-wide global reach. The result is a choice of nimble, easily customizable algorithms that continuously optimize paths to unique liquidity and help seek best execution. Our clients have found MET to be especially strong with small and mid-cap liquidity.”

Mizuho partnered with Clearpool, an electronic trading technology provider, to give clients the ability to change, amend and customize algorithms based on transactional data and trader preferences. The partnership aims to give the buyside more control and transparency over their algorithms by monitoring market performance throughout the day, providing data to make assessments and fine-tune algorithmic performance.
